Bio
Hailing from Virginia Beach VA, an area more renown for being home to such hip-hop artist/producer heavyweights as Missy Elliot, The Neptunes, and Timbaland, Some Odd Sense have nonetheless emerged as one of the most promising unsigned power-pop groups on the East Coast. Named “Local Pop Band of the Year” by Ninevolt Magazine, the band has performed at “almost every venue in Southeastern Virginia” according to VaRockBands.com, including such well-known venues as the Norva and Virginia Beach Amphitheater. Since its formation in 2001, Some Odd Sense has consistently kept up a relentless touring schedule that has brought the band up and down the East Coast, from Pennsylvania to Georgia, sharing the stage with such national acts as American Hi-Fi, Blue Man Group, Finch, Butch Walker, dada, Butterfly Jones, Fighting Gravity, MOTH, and Virginia Coalition.

Their sound is simple. There is no "reinventing the wheel" going on here. Just great, hook-filled, guitar driven pop songs; the kind that never seem to go out of style, and always seem to get stuck in your head. Echoes of the Beatles, the Replacements, and U2 are worn proudly on their sleeves; and comparisons to some of today's radio darlings such as Fountains of Wayne, Phantom Planet, and Jimmy Eat World have also been made.

In February of 2002, Some Odd Sense released “Catalyst”, their first EP. Recorded at the Neptunes’ Virginia Beach studio, it spawned the songs, “Fade” and “Day Has Dawned” which received frequent airplay on local stations WROX, WPTE and WKOC, as well as the track “Grey”, which was proclaimed a “hit-in-waiting” by Ninevolt Magazine. In January of 2004, the band released their much-anticipated first full-length CD, “Living To Live”, featuring such standout tracks as “Chances”, “Back To You” and “Afterlife”.
